Brian Shannon is a passionate, driven, and adaptable backcountry guide, instructor, and mountain safety specialist based out of Squamish, BC. Drawing on his nine years of professional experience guiding technical mountaineering trips, Brian also works to provide solutions for a variety of operations such as film, industrial work, and exploration. With strong leadership, fitness, and interpersonal skills, Brian offers the ability to analyze diverse hazards and implement effective and efficient risk management solutions. Brian’s favourite part of guiding and safety consulting is facilitating people towards achieving more than they initially imagined.
Brian is a certified Alpine Guide with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, a Level 2 Practitioner Member of the Canadian Avalanche Association, an IRATA/SPRAT1 Rope Access Technician, EMR Medic, NFPA 1001 Level 2 Fire Fighter and Hazmat Operations. He has worked on many adventure reality productions such as Alone, World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji and Extracted.
