About me
Toby Dormer is President, Canada, Unscripted Television at Blink49 Studios, where he
leads all Canadian unscripted operations and collaborates closely with the U.S. team
delivering an integrated, cross-border strategy leveraging Canadian scale, crews, and
expertise serving both domestic and global audiences. Since joining Blink49 in 2022, he
has overseen a slate as Executive Producer of Queen of the Castle (CTV Life),
RomCon: Who The F**k is Jason Porter? (Prime Video), Blue Collar (Crave), Come
Dine with Me Canada (Rogers) and Beast Games (Prime Video), the largest unscripted
series ever produced in Canada with a crew of over 1,700, demonstrating Blink49’s
capacity for large-scale, premium production.
A seasoned producer and executive with extensive experience across global franchises,
Toby brings deep expertise in delivering premium factual content that blends creativity
with commercial appeal. Before Blink49, Toby served as Executive Vice President,
Unscripted Canada at Entertainment One (eOne), where his credits included Arctic
Vets (CBC/NatGeo), Project Bakeover (Food Network/Hulu), The Chicago
Strangler (Discovery+), Death in the Bayou (iD), Thunder Bay (CTV/Crave), and Border
Security (Global/Netflix), among others.
Earlier in his career, Toby founded and served as President of Remedy Productions, the
UK’s largest entertainment producer by volume for several years, producing over
10,000 hours of content for BBC, Channel 4, MTV, E4, Sky, and Five, as well as
branded content for Nike, PlayStation, Red Bull, and more. Following Remedy’s
acquisition by Argonon Media Group in 2011, Toby launched the company’s Canadian
office, producing titles such as First Dates (Global), My Floating Home (HGTV/Channel
4), and Cabin Truckers (A&E/Cottage Life).
